Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Constants ("the Service") operated at www.constants.io, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Constants is a platform that lets you generate, run, and share software tools powered by AI. Tools execute in isolated sandbox environments and can integrate with third-party services such as Google Workspace, GitHub, and others through secure credential management.

3. User Accounts

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

Violate any applicable laws or regulations
Create or run tools that are malicious, harmful, or designed to exploit others
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts, data, or tools
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
Use the Service to store or transmit content that infringes intellectual property rights
Exceed usage quotas or rate limits through automated means

5. Third-Party Integrations

The Service allows you to connect third-party accounts (e.g., Google, GitHub). By connecting these services, you authorize Constants to access and use data from those services as needed to execute your tools. You are responsible for complying with the terms of service of any third-party services you connect. You may disconnect any integration at any time.

6. Credentials and Security

Constants provides a credential vault for storing API keys and secrets. While we encrypt all stored credentials at rest and decrypt them only during tool execution in isolated environments, you are responsible for the credentials you store and the actions performed using them. Do not store credentials that grant excessive permissions beyond what your tools require.

7. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of the tools, code, and content you create using the Service. Constants retains ownership of the platform, its infrastructure, and any proprietary technology. By sharing tools publicly, you grant other users a license to run those tools through the platform.

8. Community Tools, MCPs, and Apps

8.0 Definitions

For purposes of this Section:

"Community Item" means any Tool, MCP server, App, connector, skill, template, prompt, code, configuration, or other software, content, or material that a User creates, uploads, publishes, or otherwise makes available through the Services to any person outside that User's own Workspace. Community Item includes both Community Tools and Community MCPs and Apps as described below.

"Publisher" means the User who makes a Community Item available. "Your Community Item" means a Community Item you are the Publisher of.

"Installer" means any User who adds, enables, connects to, invokes, or otherwise uses a Community Item published by another User.

"Workspace Item" means a Tool, MCP server, or App shared only within a single Workspace, among members of that Workspace. Workspace Items are not Community Items and are governed by your agreement with the Workspace owner rather than by this Section.

"Publishing Guidelines" means the Constants Publishing Guidelines available at constants.io/publishing-guidelines, as updated from time to time, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference.

8.1 Community Tools

8.1.1 Publishing.

Constants lets you publish Tools you build so that other Users can discover and run them. When you publish a Tool outside your Workspace, you are the Publisher of a Community Item and this Section applies to you.

8.1.2 Your responsibility as Publisher.

You are solely responsible for Your Community Item, including its code, its behavior, the data it processes, the third-party services it calls, and any harm arising from any of the foregoing. You represent and warrant that:

(a) you own or hold all rights, licenses, and consents necessary to publish Your Community Item and to grant the rights in these Terms;

(b) Your Community Item, and its ordinary and intended use, complies with all applicable laws and regulations and does not infringe, misappropriate, or violate the intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights of any person;

(d) any description, documentation, name, or metadata you supply is accurate and not misleading, and accurately describes what Your Community Item does and when it should be invoked; and

(e) you will not state or imply that Your Community Item is created, sponsored, verified, reviewed, endorsed, or approved by Constants.

8.1.3 Running a Community Tool.

Community Tools are created by other Users, not Constants. Constants may conduct automated or manual review, testing, moderation, or security screening, but does not undertake to comprehensively verify any Community Tool and makes no representation about its functionality, safety, security, accuracy, or data-handling practices. When you run a Community Tool you do so at your own risk, and you are solely responsible for evaluating whether it is appropriate for your data and your use case.

8.1.4 Credentials and connected accounts.

If you supply credentials, tokens, or authorize a connected account for use by a Community Tool, you authorize that Community Tool to act with those credentials within the scope you grant. Constants is not responsible for how a Publisher's Community Tool uses, stores, retains, or transmits data accessible through those credentials. You should grant the narrowest scope required and revoke access when you stop using the Community Tool.

8.2 Community MCPs and Apps

8.2.1 Scope.

This subsection applies in addition to 8.1 where a Community Item is an MCP server, an App, or any other component that (i) is hosted or operated by the Publisher or a third party rather than by Constants, (ii) exposes tools or capabilities to an AI model through natural-language descriptions, or (iii) requires authentication to a remote service.

8.2.2 Publisher obligations.

As Publisher of a Community MCP or App, you additionally represent, warrant, and agree that:

(a) Ownership of endpoints. You own or control or have right to access every API endpoint, domain, and user interface Your Community Item connects to, and every external resource it retrieves or renders.

(b) Data minimization. Your Community Item will collect only the data from the Installer's context that is necessary to perform its stated function, and will not collect extraneous conversation data, including for logging purposes.

(c) Truthful tool descriptions. Each tool or capability exposed by Your Community Item will be described in narrow, unambiguous language that precisely matches its actual functionality, will not promise undelivered features, and will not contain hidden, obfuscated, or encoded instructions.

(d) No interference. Your Community Item will not attempt to induce a model to call other software, tools, or resources that the Installer did not request, will not interfere with a model's ability to call other software, and will not pull behavioral instructions dynamically from external sources for execution.

(e) Authentication. Where Your Community Item requires authentication to a remote service, it will use OAuth 2.0 with certificates from a recognized certificate authority, and will request only the scopes necessary for its stated function.

(f) Contact and vulnerability handling. You will provide and maintain verified contact information and a support channel, will implement and maintain a mechanism for receiving reports of security vulnerabilities from Constants and from third parties, and will investigate such reports with a reasonable standard of care and address confirmed issues within a reasonable timeframe.

(g) Secrets hygiene. Any authentication secrets you configure for Your Community Item will be unique to that Item and not reused across other accounts or services, will be resistant to guessing, and will be rotated at least every ninety (90) days.

(h) Incident notification. If Your Community Item suffers, or you reasonably suspect it has suffered, a security breach that either requires notification to affected persons or a government authority, or that may threaten the Services or other Users, you will notify Constants promptly at safety@constants.io.

8.2.3 Connecting to a Community MCP or App.

A Community MCP or App is operated by its Publisher, not by Constants. Connecting to one may allow it to access data in your account and in connected services and to take actions in those services on your behalf. Constants may conduct automated or manual review, testing, moderation, or security screening, but does not undertake to comprehensively verify the safety, security, or data practices of any Community MCP or App. You are solely responsible for verifying the operation and practices of the Publisher, for reviewing the permissions you grant, and for reviewing the Publisher's terms and privacy policy, which govern your relationship with the Publisher.

8.2.4 Third-party terms.

Your use of a Community MCP or App, and of any third-party service it connects to, may be subject to a separate agreement between you and the Publisher or that third party ("Third-Party Terms"). Constants is not a party to, and is not responsible in any manner for your or the Publisher's compliance with, any Third-Party Terms.

8.3 Provisions applicable to all Community Items

8.3.1 Constants acts as an intermediary.

You acknowledge and agree that Constants provides the platform through which Publishers make Community Items available and acts as an intermediary between you and the Publisher. Publishers, not Constants, create and supply Community Items and are responsible for them. Constants may conduct automated or manual review, testing, moderation, or security screening, but does not undertake to comprehensively verify any Community Item, and any such activity does not constitute certification, endorsement, or a warranty. However a Community Item is offered, displayed, ranked, described, or made available to you, its presence in any Constants directory, search result, listing, ranking, or recommendation is not a representation that Constants has comprehensively reviewed it or that it is safe, secure, functional, or suitable for any purpose.

8.3.2 No sensitive data.

Community Items may not be used to process, and you may not make available to a Community Item, any information subject to heightened legal or regulatory data-protection requirements, including without limitation financial account information, payment card data, protected health information, biometric information, government identifiers, and any other sensitive personal information or special categories of personal data as defined under applicable law. Constants is not designed to serve as a system of record for, or to provide regulatory-grade safeguards for, such information. If you provide such information in violation of this subsection you do so at your own risk, you are solely responsible for having a lawful basis and any required consents, and you agree to indemnify Constants for any claim arising from your doing so.

8.3.3 License to Constants.

By publishing a Community Item you grant Constants a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, index, and transmit Your Community Item, its descriptions, documentation, and metadata, for the purpose of operating and providing the Services and of presenting, promoting, and enabling discovery of Your Community Item. You further authorize Constants to review and test Your Community Item and to collect and use functional metadata about it to improve the Services and to share such metadata with Users.

8.3.4 Removal, suspension, and notice to Installers.

Constants may, at its sole discretion and at any time, without liability to you and with or without prior notice, remove, disable, unlist, unrank, restrict, suspend, or terminate access to any Community Item, or suspend or terminate a Publisher's ability to publish, including where Constants believes a Community Item violates these Terms or the Publishing Guidelines, poses a legal, security, privacy, or reputational risk, or is the subject of a credible report. Constants has no obligation to monitor Community Items but may do so.

Where Constants removes or disables a Community Item that has been added or connected by other Users, Constants will use commercially reasonable efforts to notify affected Installers that the Community Item is no longer available, and may disable or revoke associated connections and authorizations. Removal does not entitle the Publisher to any refund or compensation, and neither Constants nor the Publisher is obligated to preserve, migrate, or restore any Community Item or associated data. Installers are responsible for maintaining their own backups of any data they rely on.

8.3.5 Reporting.

If you believe a Community Item is unlawful, unsafe, or violates these Terms or the Publishing Guidelines, report it using the report link on the Community Item's page or by email to safety@constants.io. Abuse of the reporting mechanism, including submission of reports in bad faith, may result in loss of the ability to submit reports and in action against your account.

8.3.6 Disclaimer of warranties.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COMMUNITY ITEMS ARE MADE AVAILABLE "AS IS," "WITH ALL FAULTS," AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. CONSTANTS HAS NO RESPONSIBILITY OR LIABILITY FOR ANY COMMUNITY ITEM OR FOR ANY ACT OR OMISSION OF ANY PUBLISHER OR OTHER THIRD PARTY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE FUNCTIONALITY, INTEROPERABILITY, AVAILABILITY, SECURITY, ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, LEGAL COMPLIANCE, OR DATA-PROTECTION AND PROCESSING PRACTICES OF ANY COMMUNITY ITEM OR OF THE PROVIDER OF ANY COMMUNITY ITEM. CONSTANTS DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. BY ACCESSING OR USING ANY COMMUNITY ITEM YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU DO SO AT YOUR SOLE DISCRETION AND RISK AND THAT YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING THE OPERATION AND PRACTICES OF ITS PUBLISHER AND ANY APPLICABLE THIRD-PARTY TERMS.

8.3.7 Publisher indemnity.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Constants and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claim, demand, liability, damage, loss, cost, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to (a) Your Community Item, (b) any Installer's or other person's use of or interaction with Your Community Item, (c) your breach of this Section, the Publishing Guidelines, or these Terms, or (d) your violation of any applicable law or of the terms of any third-party service Your Community Item connects to.

8.3.8 No partnership or endorsement.

Publishing a Community Item, or its inclusion in any Constants directory or listing, does not create any partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between the Publisher and Constants, and grants no right to use Constants' name, trademarks, logos, or other intellectual property. Publishers may not make any statement suggesting partnership with, sponsorship by, or endorsement by Constants without Constants' prior written approval.

8.3.9 Survival.

8.1.2, 8.2.2, 8.3.1, 8.3.6, 8.3.7, and 8.3.8 survive termination of these Terms and of any Publisher's or Installer's account.

9. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Constants shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service. This includes but is not limited to damages from tool execution errors, data loss, or third-party service failures.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violations of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting updated terms on this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
